Jets are 50!
Can you believe it! Jets are 50 years old. From small beginnings as an U-12 side in 1972-3, registered with the FA on 1st June 1972, to a football club encompassing a Senior team playing Step 5 football, now in the Combined Counties Premier North and in the FA Cup and FA Vase, a Development team that offers a route into Senior football for players coming out of the Jets Youth teams, a Jets Vet team that plays to a high level in the Herts County Leagues, and a series of youth teams that offer football to local youngsters through the age groups.
John Elliott and Dave Fuller have been there from the very start and built the club up to what it is today with their tireless work and energy, and a fierce determination to get things done. Raise a toast to John and Dave, and to the Oxhey Jets 50th birthday!
We now have a section on the website, Jets 50, that follows the growth of Jets over the years, and features our successes and some of the most memorable games. Individual sections are: –
