Jets kept alive the slim hopes of avoiding relegation with a superb 1-2 away win at on form North Greenford United to give themselves a five point week.
NGU are a superb side with fantastic people running them and the lovely gesture made to our players of a drink on them to acknowledge the fact “they played like their lives depended on it” shows what a class sporting club they are in a rare defeat.
Spencer Bellotti recalled to the side opened the scoring with a class header from a Henry Dudley pin-point cross.
NGU levelled with a good solo run and slot, but Jets didn’t go into their shells and played a fantastic first half of attacking football. Skipper Tommy Kennard played the ball of the game to set Owen Ayres away who drew and hit low and hard for Spencer to hammer home at the back post for his brace.
The second half was nothing like it, we were battered, it was the Alamo non-stop, I think we left our half about six times.
Jets really dug in, competed for every ball and, coupled with some good luck, somehow held out for a massive three points.
Jets goalkeeper Lewis Lavin was Jets Carlsberg man of the match with a string of saves.
