Hallelujah. Happy Monday for the Jets
Sandhurst 0 Oxhey Jets 3
Combined Counties Division One
9th February 2026
Jets got another impressive result on the road on what was a superb Astro, one of the best we’ve played on at Sandhurst Town.

Pauli Schuster’s long range thunderbolt to the top bin beats the keeper to give Jets the lead.
For the first fifteen minutes Jets were fully on top, dictating possession fully, then opened the scoring with another stunning long-distance strike from Paulie Portes-Schuster (16 min) into the top corner out of reach of the full-stretch keeper.
Strangely, this changed the possession and play in favour of the hosts as Sandhurst now dictated possession and Jets became guilty of clumsy ball play and being caught in possession far too often. Two top saves from David Nistor protected Jets’ lead as Jets dug in, restricting the hosts to possession, not goal chances. The energy levels from both teams were high as two very young sides battled out on a perfect playing surface.

Mosca slams home Jets second goal.

Mosca and Pope celebrate the goal
The emphasis at the break was on the importance of the next goal. It arrived very quickly, just two minutes in, when a perfect ball from out wide by skipper Olly Pope was latched onto and struck by Dominic Mosca to double the gap. The sheer relief of Mosca returning from double pneumonia was evident, and the joy for him and the team was clear and well deserved.

Joe Reade gets to the ball and makes it 3-0 – but Sandhurst argued that it was handball.

Joe Reade sees his goal hit the net
Sandhurst were a little dejected, and the third and all but killer goal came soon after when Joe Reade converted at the near post from a corner (58 mins) 0-3, but loud protest from the home side that it was a handball led to a long discussion by the officials, but the goal was awarded.
Sandhurst rallied and twice hit the goal structure, but it wasn’t to be for them on the night, and Jets confidently played out for good points on the long Monday night road trip.
A mention for another young debutant from the U18’s, striker Matas Jankauska, who became the latest youngster to experience the clear pathway that Dave Barnes and Tom Inch are forging from youth to seniors for players. Great to see.

The Carlsberg man of the match brought mixed nominations as you’d expect from such a positive result, but the final decision went to Paulie for a real work performance topped off by a worldie goal.
