Jets Hit Samurai For Seven
Oxhey Jets 7 London Samurai Rovers 1

6th December 2025
On a soggy, wet weekend, it was raining goals at the Boundary as Jets put on an unstoppable, stunning performance and gunned down London Samurai 7-1 to record their biggest win of the season, and their first-ever win over the visitors.
Jets were warned in a excellent pre match talk how good the visitors are and singled out the excellent winger and not long after kick off he proved them right lighting up the wing and jinking in but finally blocked by bulk defending, was this what was to come soon become no as skipper “Nugs” was to have a brilliant game bolting down the hot shot in a perfect defensive game.
Jets immediately showed their intentions when George Rice took the defence apart, and from the tightest of angles, we thought he had given Jets the lead. Still, the ball agonisingly hit the post and rolled back into the keeper’s arms with Jamie Doolan inches away from the rebound.

Dom Mosca 1-0
That was to be a warning coming to fruition as minutes later Rice from the same wing delivered the perfect ball for Dominic Mosca to neatly tap in next to the post (1-0, 22 min)

Leo Wolpert 2-0
Jets continued the press, and it was only three minutes later that a series of clearances finally went to Olly Pope, who lofted into the area and centre back Leo Wolpert threw himself bravely at the ball to steer it into the net 2-0 (25 min)
Jets really were playing some good stuff, and you go back many years to remember such a performance; the only surprise was that it was just the two at the break.

Jamie Doolan 3-0
Now, was the half-time break going to be the killer, as often happens? Well, no Jets were off the mark, instantly looking for the kill goal, and nine minutes in, midfielder Jamie Doolan, a consistent goal threat for Jets, calmly slotted onto a through ball to slip the ball past the keeper 3-0 (54 mins)

Long, long distance David Lopes 4-0
The goals so far were good ones, but then a stunner from David Lopes, nearer the halfway line than the goal, let a thunderbolt go past the keeper, so far out eluding the camera 4-0 (69 mins)

Dom Mosca 5-0
Minutes later, following a long scramble with the visitors hanging on, Dom Mosca slotted at the back post 5-0 (73 min)
The only blot on the day for Jets came when an “Air kick” let the ball go to Samurai’s Ryoga Miyata, who slotted 5-1 (86 mins)

Dom Mosca completes his hat-trick from the penalty spot, 6-1
Surely all over, but there was more to come. Dom Mosca clear through on goal, gets brought down, and gets up to slot the penalty for his hat-trick 6-1 (90+2 mins)

Two incredible long-shot goals from David Lopes
Just time for something special and in the centre of no man’s land, David Lopes controls and hits thunderbolt number two past the diving full-stretch keeper 7-1 (90+3 mins) to top off a remarkable performance.
The Carlsberg man of the match could be a crate’s worth today, as six or seven players could be nominated for fantastic performances, and the substitute bench also had a massive impact. Still, the MoM went to “thunderbolt” David Lopes, whose outstanding performance was topped off by two incredible goals.
