Oxhey Jets 4 Molesey 0
Cherry Red Combined Counties Division One
5th October 2024
Jets were romping in the sunshine today, hitting 4 with no reply to continue the fine run of form.
Jets were on top all day today, and Patrick Brander and Noah SoftLeigh-Moore were on fire on each side of the pitch; ironically, it was this pair who gave Jets the lead after Dominic Mosca had been denied by the keeper on a 1:1. Brander tore past the defender and cut across the box and nothing short of the perfect cross found Noah Softleigh-Moore unmarked at the back post to nod home 1-0 ( 28 min)
The Jets attacked for almost 45 minutes, and much of the talk at the break was about what they expected Molesey to do in response.
The Jets’ notorious slow second-half starters were on afterburners this afternoon and carved two good chances before an excellent blistering shot by Dominic Mosca doubled the lead ( 50 mins).
Still, no let-off as Jets went for the match, and following continuous pressure, the excellent skipper performance by James Kimber powerfully headed no 3 ( 64 min).
Jets, as always, played all the bench, but nothing changed, and it looked like substitute Tom Reid had notched, but the camera didn’t lie, and Dominic Mosca had flicked his shot the goal side of the post for us for 4-0 (83 min )
A strong performance across the team sheet today and a good score as the Jets look to crawl their way up the table.
The Carlsberg man of the match was debatable; the returning Craig Stephen-Lett was faultless, and today’s Skipper, James Kimber, was on top of his game with a good goal, and of course, Dominic Mosca with another brace. Patrick Brander and Noah Softleigh-Moore were unstoppable, and the final nod went to Noah for his stunning performance.
