Jets Grounded by British Airways

Jets were grounded by British Airways on Saturday, but after a horror week, they showed much more ability and will be kicking their selves for dropping points again.
Multiple changes from the midweek debacle gave much more hope and belief that this young squad could get back on track, and those hopes were raised further when a sweet Lewis Putman strike gave Jets the lead ( 14 min).
Chances came and went, but Jets never looked to trouble, and GK Cameron Inch making his debut was comfortable but not very busy.
The warning shout came from the bench as stoppage time entered, “Stop ball watching”, and that’s exactly what happened in the third minute of stoppage time. A cutter through ball opened Jets’ defence, and a perfect slot levelled the game on the whistle and left Jets wondering how !!!
The second half started in madness. Incompetent defending saw Jets concede twice in just over a minute, again defensive turn-offs costing Jets badly.
This time Jets responded immediately, and a Lewis Putman free-kick could not be held, and Owen Ayres pounced on the rebound 3-2 and three goals in not quite three minutes.
It was almost unbelievable when two goal-line clearances denied Jets in the following ninety seconds, but good last-gasp defending left Jets with nothing.
It was an entertaining game, and you always felt Jets would get something, although Cameron Inch in goal more than once had to maintain the deficit.
Jets, for the first forty-five were like their early season self, but a five-minute spell on each side of the break was to ground them. Unfortunately, defensively, at the moment Jets are undoing a lot of good work.
The man of the match went to the energetic Dylan Hickman Singh, returning from injury, who suffered a painful cramp attack in the final moments as his reward, but Jets will be licking their wounds the morning after wondering how they lost. Incoming player boost is in progress by the management whose patience is wearing thin, and it’s looking like experience is needed for their young charges.
