Adrian Flux Insurance Player of The Month

In April and May the Jets continued their policy of giving their youngsters an opportunity in the first team, and both Cameron Sharpe and George Rice made their first team starting debuts in April.

Jets best results were the 3-0 win over Woodley, where every player was given an 8 out of 10 or better in a super team performance, and the outstanding 1-1 draw away against play-off team Rolling Ballers Kensington, which was an ideal way to end the season, showing great promise for the next campaign.

There were three strong candidates for the Player of the Month Award – George Rice, Owen Ayres and Olly Pope. Both Owen Ayres and Olly Pope went close. Owen Ayres continued his consistent form throughout the season with six goals and a Man of the Match Award. Olly Pope completed his comeback from injury and was back to his early season best with two Man of the Match awards.

George Rice, though, is the winner of our April/May Player of the Month. George came up from the ‘A’ team and almost got the Man of the Match in his debut start. He was then awarded the Jets Man of the Match in his next two games and got a goal and an assist in the match against Eversley & California. What a great start for the young Jet.
