Jets Bounce Back At The Boundary
Oxhey Jets 4 Eversley & California 2
Cherry Red Combined Counties Division One
7th October 2023
Jets ended a 5-match losing run with a tremendous display at the Boundary Stadium against Eversley & California. Jets staff made changes prior to the game in all areas of the pitch. Jets debutant Danny Fowler had a fantastic game for his new club although he marred it slightly when a cheeky comment to the linesman resulted in a sin-bin for 10 minutes early in the game.
On 23 minutes, and while down to 10 men, young Kleyton De Biazze was on the edge of the area and sent an excellent placed shot past the keeper. 1-0
Jets would be disappointed with the equaliser on 33 minutes when hesitation in the defence resulted in a well taken goal by the visitors. 1-1
A very good, even first half led to the scores still being equal at the break.
Jets were warned by the management about making a slow start to the second half. The warning was heeded and they got off to a flyer and in the 49th minute Dylan Hickman Singh beat his man and volleys across the box for Kleyton De Biazze to net his brace, volleying home from 6 yards out. 2-1
Just a minute later, Kleyton turned provider, plays across the box to Dylan who beats his man and slams the ball home. 3-1
Jets were really on fire at this stage and on 58 minutes Danny Fowler, on his debut, drove forward and then played in Kleyton who drags it back to Owen Ayres to score what was his 4th goal in 4 games. 4-1
in the 91st minute Eversley & California were reduced to 10 men which, seemingly, finished off their chances although they did score a consolation goal a minute later to make it 4-2.
The games was played out and the young Jets celebrated on the final whistle having come out of that 5-match losing run.
Some good performances across the team but the Carlsberg Jets Man of the Match award went to two-goal Kleyton De Biazze.
