Jets came through a tough match against Wokingham & Emmbrook to record their much needed first league win of the season.
A silence of respect for Vienna Wigg

Before the match there was a silence in memory of young Vienna Wigg. Total respect as all three teams and a big crowd including Family and Friends of little Vienna Wigg honour the beautiful little girl taken from us far to soon.
Thank you to the Match officials and Wokingham & Emmbrook for their superb understanding and support tonight.
On to the match and it was an even and goalless first half with both sides showing, perhaps, the tension of gaining an important win.
It was then a disastrous start to the second half when Vass Mandeville was dismissed in the 46th minute for a second yellow card offence, pulling back an opposing player.
Jets, however, didn’t go into their shell but in fact pushed forward and deservedly took the lead almost immediately after the dismissal, Kieran Patterson scoring the goal on his Jets debut start.

Jets extended the lead when Sean Giordmaina scored the best goal of the night, in fact a contender for our best goal of the season. Jack Thompson, one of the standout players for Jets, broke through the Wokingham defence and chipped the ball to Sean. Sean turned, teed the ball in the air, and then whacked a fierce volley that gave their keeper no chance.
At 2-0 it looked like job done but Wokingham pushed at Jets and came up with a goal in the 92nd minute to make it 2-1 and to test Jets nerves.
Jets did seal it though in the 94th minute. Deago Dunbar-Bonnie held the ball in the corner, but then wriggled through before being brought down in the area. Deago converted the penalty kick himself to make it 3-1 and game over.
Jets man of the match contenders were Tom Inch, Spencer Bellotti and Jack Thompson. The clear vote went to Spencer Bellotti.
Our thanks again to Wokingham and Emmbrook who gave us their full support before the game and in the pre-match silence that was held for Vienna Wigg.
