Jets Bounce Back After Saturday’s Collapse
Oxhey Jets 3 Tring Corinthians 1
St Marys Cup Quarter Final
20th January 2026
It was a very wet, windy and cold Boundary stadium on a testing night for the young Jets side, after their horror display on Saturday and a roasting by the staff after the match.
The turnaround, whilst not eye-boggling, was a massive step up, with more energy, effort and team coordination to ease Tring Corinthians out of the St Mary’s cup and earn a semi-final match v Bovingdon, but they made a heck of a fight of it, especially in the first forty-five minutes.

From the tightest of angles, Patrick Brander opens the scoring.

Patrick celebrates his goal on his starting return.
There was a first start for winger Patrick Brander after four months out injured and the joy on his face was evident when he latched onto a pin point pass to from a long way out and almost impossible angle he somehow chipped the ball past the oncoming keeper for an excellent goal 1-0 (15 min) , heartbreak was to follow shortly after when the dreaded hami pinged and sadly limped off to the changing rooms.

Paulie Portes-Schuster doubles Jets lead.
Jets were pushing back hard after a pressure period of excellent set pieces by Tring had Jets pinned for a while , then a counter, swift and accurate, set Harvey Hoyte on a solo run and his excellent drive across the box was met by Paulie Portes-Shuster to drive into the bottom corner 2-0 (39 mins)

Tring get back into it from a penalty just before half-time.
Tring pegged Jets back when a soft penalty for handball was converted by Jeremy Audic 2-1 (44min) to go to the break tight.

Joseph Brown restores Jets two-goal lead.
Jets came at Tring early and earned the gap as the weather worsened and howling, swirling wind, and rain blew into the defending Trings’ direction, making their task harder, and Jets Mr Consistent Joseph Brown hit a spectacular drive from the edge of the box to extend Jets lead back to two goals 3-1 (49 mins)

Jets almost score a fourth, but the shot hits the crossbar.

Dom Mosca unlucky to get on the scoresheet on his return.
Tring tired and went out of the game for a while, and only the crossbar denied a fourth, and soon after, Dominic Mosca hit the net on his return from double pneumonia, but was denied by the assistant’s flag.
The game ended worse for Tring when substitute Charlie Ros (90 min) received a straight Red for a professional foul “DOGSO,” which was a shame after the effort put into the tie on such a rotten night.
