Jets Edge Past Heath
Oxhey Jets 2 Hertford Heath 1
Herts County Cup – 2nd Round
25th November 2025
Jets had to come back from a goal down against a strong Hertford Heath team who took the lead in the first half on 15 minutes – from a corner set piece headed in by Ollie Babbage .

Dom Mosca makes it 1-1
Jets had most of the possession in the first half but had a problem making it count until Dom Mosca picked up on a rare early through ball to level at 1-1 on 39 minutes.
1-1 half-time
Jets continued to push forward but Hertford Heath were also really strong coming at Jets in the second half.
Jets then had a golden chance to take the lead when Dom Mosca and Owen Ayres went clear through on the keeper but Ayres lost his footing causing him to blaze his shot wide.
In the incident it appeared he lost his shin-pad and the referee wanted him off the pitch until he replaced it. The Hertford goalkeeper retrieved the pad from behind the goal but the referee then chose to send Ayres to the sin bin for his initial reaction.

The ‘offside’ goal?
From the following goal-kick Paulie Portes Schuster neatly took on two defenders and played the ball through for Dom Mosca to run past defenders before slotting past the final defender and keeper but then, amazingly, Jets celebrations were cut short by one of the most baffling offside decisions ever seen at Jets, goal disallowed.

Smart header from Dom Mosca decides the tie. 2-1 Jets

Dom Mosca and Danny Fowler celebrate.
Hertford Heath came on strong with Jets down to ten men during the sin-bin period and were doing all the pressing. Jets survived that period and then, on 77 minutes, Dom Mosca produced a strong header at the far post for a really good goal which sent the Jets Ultras mad.
Hertford Heath then pushed Jets all the way and Jets had to defend deep to hold them off. A good win for Jets against the fast rising Hertford Heath who are runaway leaders of the County league.
Jets progress to the Quarter Finals.
