Following two very gloomy results the Jets were seeking a revival in their fortunes as they played hosts to new comers to the league Tring Corinthians.
The Jets set out their table from the whistle and wasted no time in pushing forward into the Tring area with the pace that has been missing to date in this campaign in the form of Lee Armitt. A run on the right in the 3rd minute, and an inch perfect cross from him, found Owen Deamer in the box to slot home the Jets opener 1-0.
Tring managed to hold the Jets attack for a short time, but in the 14th minute the Jets were awarded a free kick just outside the Tring area which was taken by Anthony Shepherd. The ball entered a crowded box and waiting on the far post was the head of John Danslow making no mistake, and extending the Jets lead to 2-0.
The Jets continued to make their runs with very little opposition from the Tring defence and once again were soon to make a further addition to their goal tally as in the 20th minute Gary Page was the provider as a fine run by him into the corner was to produce a cross into the Tring box, and this giving Lee Armitt the opportunity to open his account for the afternoon and change the score to 3-0.
Three goals down and Tring had their brightest period as they began to test Steve Duce in the Jets goal, and although chances were missed an attack in the 24th minute found one player free in the Jets area who had the chance to turn and send the ball out of reach into the Jets net 3-1.
The Jets reply was swift as in the 27th minute yet another familiar run by Lee Armitt found the Tring keeper advancing off his line inviting a chip over which was to provide Lee with his brace, sending the ball almost apologetically into the net 4-1.
A glimmer of hope appeared for Tring when in the 43rd minute they were awarded a penalty, but was to be taken too high and striking the Jets bar. The rebound was collected and cleared by the Jets defence and the score remained 4-1 to the break.
The second half saw Tring making consistent runs into the Jets half and once more they tested the Jets keeper, but some fine saves by Steve Duce kept the score static. This was once more to change in the Jets favour as in the 65th minute they were awarded a free kick on the edge of the Tring area. It was now the chance of Anthony Shepherd to add his name to the score sheet as his well-struck kick entered the Tring net without any interruption and the score advanced to 5-1.
Time was running out as the game entered the 80th minute and a Jets attack was to send the ball into a crowded box. The attack appeared to have been dealt with as the ball was sent out, but was met by an enthusiastic Matt Deamer who was to send a volley through the crowded box and gave the Jets a 6-1 tally.
The Jets thought that it was job done for the afternoon, but there was one man who wanted just one more. It was in the 86th minute that once again a run by Lee Armitt was to produce another one on one with the keeper, another goal for his hat trick and another goal for the Jets at 7-1 as the final whistle sounded.
