Another long-range league fixture for the Jets, this time to St Margaretsbury. Having gone through the one minutes silence to commemorate remembrance weekend, the Jets faced a pitch, which was thought to bring problems for a short ball game.
The first half started, and remained a none event as both sides appeared to struggle in all arrears. When St Margaretsbury did manage shots on the Jets goal, they were to find Steve Duce in the Jets goal well able to cope, but neither side looked anywhere near opening the score line.
The Jets Gary Page was making the usual runs on the right, but all was to change in the approximate twenty fifth minute when one such run was to end in a heavy fall for him, in which he sustained a bad shoulder injury and his departure from the pitch. This incident brought the Jets first substitute into play, Chris Killer.
The game rumbled on to the break and the score sheet remained clean.
The Jets were to receive a very loud wake up call in the 50th minute when St Margaretsbury broke on the right and the attacking player entering the Jets area was brought down just inside. The St Margaretsbury number four easily converted the resulting penalty and against all odds the score was opened at 1-0.
The Jets came alive, as once again they were one goal down, and the one touch ball was played in an almost devastating effect as they penetrated the St Margaretsbury defence. Their sterling efforts did not take long to produce fruit as in the 60th minute the ball was to be collected by Adam Lowton in the centre, and after taking on players sent a strong shot at the St Margaretsbury goal, which glanced off the right post and into the net to draw the Jets level at 1-1.
The Jets defence was put under test conditions as St Margaretsbury made in roads into the area, but once again Steve Duce was on call to produce some fine saves and keep the score line level, but only for a short time, as in the 65th minute it was another player who was making his debut appearance to the side Dean Seabrook was to collect a cross from the left and make no mistake as he opened his account for the side and the Jets were ahead at 1-2.
Again as if on a five-minute time clock the Jets pressure was to count when in the 70th minute the Jets were awarded a corner on the right. The ball entering a crowded six-yard box was met by Ian Holdom who sent a powerful shot through the crowd and into the net, as the Jets days work was complete at 1-3.
