Another cup, this time the Herts Intermediate, as the Jets welcomed an unsuspecting Croxley Guild to the Boundary Stadium. To save a forest of trees this report will take another format, Not since a league fixture on 18 October 2008 have the Jets had the satisfaction of such a score.
2nd minute, Lee Armitt collected a cross from John Danslow to open his tally for the afternoon with a low powerful shot from the edge of the area. 1-0
10th minute, Carl Wigg with a well directed header as the Jets were awarded a free kick on the left and a high floating ball was to enter the Croxley box. 2-0
17th minute, Myles Stephenson was to make his mark with a fine strike, which gave the Croxley keeper no chance, what so ever. 3-0
25th minute, Adam Lowton breaking free on the right, taking on several players and opening his account for the afternoon. 4-0
33rd minute Lee Armitt now on the left making his usual run in the corner and making no mistake as the ball entered the net for his brace. 5-0
40th minute Lee Armitt with his hat trick achieved with his run now made in the centre, but with still the same outcome of yet another goal. 6-0
43rd minute Owen Deamer not to be left off the score sheet with this well worked goal. 7-0
44th minute Lee Armitt for his fourth of the afternoon, now back to the left and proving more than a hand full for the Croxley defence 8-0
With the whistle sounding for the break you could almost hear the sigh of relief from the Croxley squad for some relief from the continuous Jets attacks.
The Croxley side were to enjoy a better half with some relief in making some inroads into the Jets area.
50th minute Croxley awarded a corner which was to see their first goal when a well filled Jets box was to see a flurry of action and the ball enter the Jets net for the first time. 8-1
61st minute Lee Armitt for his fifth as he was to produce a cheeky goal, as he worked his way from the right towards the goal, met by the advancing keeper which he played around with ease before dribbling the ball over the line. 9-1
67th minute Lee Armitt now almost on speaking terms with the Croxley keeper and spending as much time in the goal mouth as he achieved his sixth goal. 10-1
72nd minute Adam Lowton looking for his brace on the left, again taking on several players before sending the ball past the keeper. 11-1
78th minute was to produce yet another goal from Croxley when a high ball entered the Jets six yard box and was to see the ball in the Jets net for the second time. 11-2
83rd minute with Croxley now working hard, but all was lost as they were awarded a corner which was to bear fruit for them with a late goal. 11-3
92nd minute Adam Lowton for his hat trick as he advanced in the centre and sending another powerful shot past the now devastated keeper. 12-3
Each and every man of the Jets side worked hard, and once again their determination came through as it would have been so easy to ease off with such a score at the break. Croxley however must be admired for bringing the game to the Jets in the second half.
