Young Jets come Unstuck

Royston Town 6 Jets 1

Spartan South Midlands Premier
9th March 2010

Royston Town showed Jets why they were so successful in the FA Vase this season as they hammered them in this League fixture.

Somehow Jets managed to get their furthest away league fixture of the season as a mid-week kick off, which caused more than a few problems as the players turned out for their fifth Saturday team commitment in just eleven full days as the full consequences of the winter weather comes to a conclusion, and clearly jets are struggling with the fixture list.

Royston were better in most departments for most of the game, there were small periods of resistance but there was little hope after Jets went behind after twelve minutes.

Two down at the break, Jets did rally a little, but once the third hit the net the result was not in question.

Again Jets rallied and Nathan Roberts pulled a goal back, and, with the introduction of Myles Stephenson and Matt Collins, Jets did threaten for a while, but the game fizzled out and Town pressed on to nail Jets down for a deserved big win.

In all honesty, the scoreline was a fair reflection on the gap between the two sides on the night.
