Injury hit Jets pulled off a great result tonight against 5th placed Aylesbury at the Boundary Stadium.
Jets now have a keeper and eleven first team players out, but the kids and call ups did well to earn three outstanding points.
Aylesbury should have taken the lead in the first five minutes but the clever lob dropped inches wide. The game really was outstanding with both sides hammering all out attack and the three match officials having an outstanding game, allowing the end to end game to flow.
Lee Armitt had a good chance after 12minutes and then Man of the Match Chris Killer came close, but was denied by a good save by the Aylesbury keeper to his right.
Then LEE ARMITT drew first blood with a clever dipping shot from just outside the box that deceived the keeper and dropped into the net (24minutes).
Only two minutes later a short corner from Andrew Lomas led Chris Killer to show why manager Benny Higham tactically played him on the wrong side, when he chipped a perfect ball for the new goal machine LEWIS PUTMAN to head home an outstanding goal and give Jets some space.
The rest of the half was in favour of Jets but still end to end in a match that graced the league.
The second half saw a slight swing, now it was Aylesbury having the better of the possession and chances and edging at Jets, but the lads dug deep and chased and harrowed everything.
Aylesbury were denied by two outstanding saves by keeper Sam Styles and Chris Killer cleared a super clearance off the goal line with all beaten.
Moments later Styles was again brave in a goal mouth melee, but Jets held firm.
Now it was Armitt who had the chance to kill the game but missed on a one on the keeper.
The final fifteen was Aylesbury attacking with Jets on the counter, but Jets held on for their first clean sheet of the season and three outstanding points.
